Crimzon Clover didn’t even take an hour for me to finish, but it’s probably one of the best games I’ve played all summer.

TL:DR If you like bullet hells, challenging video games, and something with lots of replayability, look no further, you found the perfect game!

All screenshots are from the store page for the game. No screenshots were taken by me.

Pros:
-It isn’t frustratingly difficult but it still is a hard game.
-It’s super short, but that works out thanks to it’s difficulty and tons of extra modes to play.
-The Boost mode is so cool: You basically are handicapping yourself by using the power-ups. The game’s difficulty becomes crazy and goes at a exciting pace.
-Great visuals.
-A super energetic soundtrack that pumps out the adrendaline these kind of games have.

Nitpicks:
-Too much flair and numbers around the screen may make it a bit difficult to see what’s going on but the bullets are colored specifically so they are much easier to see.

Here’s an example of something like that:

Cons:
-I don’t have any, it’s straight up awesome!

Discussion:
Bullet Hells aren’t something I really play a lot. The closest I got to one was Galaga Legions DX, and that was in some form way too easy to even match the challenge of Crimzon Clover. Crimzon Clover is freaking awesome. It has so much stuff cluttered (Which is kind of something I’m a bit ehh at) but the bullets and enemy fire are much easier to see. You have to focus less on shooting enemies and more about dodging the fire, since your bullet spread is pretty much 1/3rds of the entire screen. It’s a full embodiment of the Bullet Hell genre.

It almost seems bizarre that the Japanese indie scene isn’t that large here. Like seriously, if indie games were the face of powerful innovation and fun, the japanese market is a great example of that.

If you are looking for a Bullet Hell, say no further to Crimzon Clover: WORLD IGNITION. This is the defining example of Bullet Hells, and is just straight up fun. Stop reading this review and buy it now.
